Abstract

Groundwater is vital for sustainable development due to population rise that led to contamination of available surface water in the study area. The main target is to identify optimal sites and detect pollution level in aquifer, utilizing geoelectrical attributes. Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) was conducted in 30 locations using Schlumberger electrode array where WinRESIST and Surfer software was used in generation of VES curves and variations maps of the parameters. Dar Zarrouk and aquifer parameters was computed using aquifer resistivity and thickness. 3-6 geoelectrical layers are interpreted as top soil/lateritic clay, indurated sandstone, compacted sandstone, compacted siltstone, saturated sandstone, and unsaturated sandstone comprising of the rocks in the Ajali Formation........................................................
